The catback on the Sportcross is perforated all over the place and no amount of boogerwelding is keeping it from getting holes. I’m considering buying a $110 eBay “stainless” exhaust and putting a baffle in it so at least the drone is going out the back of the car instead of coming out of multiple pinholes all along the underside of the car because I’m honestly gonna go insane. Also it “fwoof”s out the holes when I turn the car off and it’s honestly the worst.

Yes I’m aware the fitment will be garbage and I’ll have to cut and weld some hangers and shit but it’s still cheaper than having the local exhaust shop butcher something together for me.

As long as you go into it knowing you’ll be doing a lot of fab work to make it fit, no reason not to.

the amount of fab work it sounds like you will need i would just buy pipe and a vibrant performance muffler and pay a shop

A friend of mine put Ebay exhaust on his WRX after realizing he didn’t want to spend $1k on “good exhaust”. Cost him $220 for a complete turbo back setup with resonator.

We fit it up with the only issue being the turbo heat shield needed to be trimmed, otherwise it bolted right up and fit perfectly. It looks great and sound as good (or better) than the more expensive exhausts. He gets a lot of compliments on it and he’s had no issues with it in the 5 years it’s been on his car.

Yeah it’s pretty hard to make a 2JZ sound bad so I’m not terribly worried on that front.

There is a local IS300 with a cheap exhaust(fart cannon). It sounds like a 350Z with a straight pipe.

When me and a friend heard it leave a meet, we were in awe(because someone managed to make one sound bad). I’ve also seen the underhood of that car, and it’s definitely still a GE.

Daender has seen it, I don’t know if he’s heard it. (the yellow mismatched IS300)

I’ve heard some real bad ones on eBay but it seems like if you leave the cats in place you can’t really go wrong.

I am so glad he doesn’t autocross it anymore because it was painful to watch...as it was to listen to it.
